So the new Spider-Man came out.

So The Amazing Spider-Man 2 opened this past weekend and it was the lowest grossing Spider-Man movie to come out so far (the movie was actually fun). What this means is...

...nothing really. Sony will never sell off or rent out the web head to other companies who could utilize him in better ways. It's this sense of stubbornness that will eventually turn people off to comic book movies. All of these characters should have never been split up and put in there own universe with obvious restrictions (Rumored in the Avengers: Age of Ultron that they supposedly can't use the term "Mutants" to describe Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch so they are referred to as "Miracles" for the time being).

Imagine a comic book movie in one fully combined cinematic layout, where characters mention things such as the Daily Bugle or Xavier's school for the gifted or SHIELD. Here is another thing that could have linked all these universes together that would keep the studio's happy but also give the fans something to squeal over...have SHIELD as a more prominent figure in EVERY property. Sure, you could never refer to specific agents but having SHIELD as a known staple much like the CIA or FBI would have been enough to quell any anger towards the studio's lack of wanting to play together and amass literally tons of money.

Perhaps someday, the right people will get together and understand that just one movie featuring key members from all the properties would make enough money to buy a country. But then again what do i know? i just pay to see these movies and know what i would like to see and that doesn't mean anyone else would like to see a movie featuring a couple of the characters from the currant roster of Avengers with Wolverine and Spider-Man helping out the Fantastic Four against Galactus because that already sounds pretty stupid and it would never make anybody any money at all*.

*sarcastic trail off
